This poker game is commonly played at home. According to limit poker rules, a range for betting is pre decided. The players can bet only within that range (not less than the minimum amount, not more than the maximum amount). Also, you can't raise less than the amount already raised. Even if you had planned your strategy for a lower amount, you've got to change it if a player preceding you decides to raise the bet even further.

If you look at the limit poker rules for fixed limit type poker games. Here the size of bets is fixed for each round of betting (pre-flop, flop, turn and river). For the first two rounds, following dealing out of the pre-flop and the flop, the lower side of the range is the limit. The higher side of the range is the limit for the last two rounds, following the turn and the river, respectively. The amount for this poker game that can be raised is also specified in the same manner.

Pot limit Omaha rules games are not very common. Though the rules seem simple, the game can become complicated and the betting may acquire quite a large size. According to pot limit poker rules, in this game, the amount in the pot is the restriction. A player may raise the bet by only as much as there in the pot currently. This may lead to doubling and even double doubling of the amount. Hence, the betting may go very high.

In No Limit Poker, there's no restriction on the size of the bet that can be placed during the game. As per the limit poker rules, it starts at the amount of the big blind and can go up to the maximum available.
