The Poker Game Rules

- Texas Holdem - It is one of the most popular forms of poker. It consists of strategies of almost all poker games. Each player is dealt 2 cards face down and 3 cards dealt face up. Finally, fourth and fifth card are dealt on the table one by one. Five cards are community cards and players are expected to score the highest poker hand by using any of the five cards out of seven (5 community cards + 2 hole cards). All members have access to community cards and when money is involved then there is a round of betting.
- Omaha - It is similar to Texas Holdem, the only difference is that the players can choose from nine cards. A hand is formed by taking two hole cards and three community cards.
Wager Actions
Some commonly used wager actions according to poker game rules include:
- Check - If the current betting round has no wager, then players may use check. The action is passed to next poker player in clockwise direction and only after all players check for a round of betting, the round is considered complete.
- Bet - A player may bet, when there is no wager on the current betting round. If the player bets, the other players may call the bet, or go for fold.
- Fold - If the player fails to include more money in the pot and is also out of hand, then the money put by that player in the pot is lost.
- Call - The player must match the bet made by the opponent player. The game continues and next card is dealt until another player rises.
- Raise - This requires matching the current bet and also putting an additional amount. All other players can call the raise and re-raise.
