Pre-Flop

To start the game of Texas Holdem Poker, two players put blind bets. The player left to the dealer puts the small blind while the player next to him puts the big blind. Every player is dealt two cards called pocket or hole cards. These cards are dealt face down. The player to left of the big blind player makes the first move. He can either call the bet, raise or fold. Betting continues clockwise around the table.

Flop

According to Texas hold em poker rules or Texas holdem rules, after the betting, three community cards (cards which can be used by everyone) are dealt face up on the board. These first three cards are called the flop. The flop is followed by the round two of betting.

Turn

The fourth card called the turn is dealt face up onto the board.

Another round of betting follows.

The last and final card, the fifth card called the river is dealt face up.

This is followed by the final round of betting in Texas holdem poker. Each player tries to make the best five-card hand by combining their pocket cards with the cards on the board. The final showdown occurs and the player with the best five-card hand wins the game.
