Rules Of Different Poker Games Including Texas Hold'em Poker Rules
Over the years, the popularity of different games of poker have seen many fluctuations. Some poker games like Texas Holdem and Omaha are more popular than others. This article explains some of the most famous poker game rules like Texas poker rules, Omaha poker rules, 7 card stud poker rules and different variations of these games.
- Texas Holdem: This is the most popular poker game. According to Texas Hold'em poker rules, it can be played by 2-10 players. Due to its simple rules and fast paced play, this game is well-liked. In this game, players can use not only their own hole cards but also the five community cards open to all players. If a player wants to win, he needs to judge his opponents well and use a strategy to make the best use of 5 community cards and 2 hole cards.
- There are two popular betting variations to this game, Limit Texas Holdem Poker and No limit Texas Holdem. As per Texas poker rules, limit Texas Holdem is a game with a set amount of bets and limits on the maximum number of raises that can be made. No Limit Texas Holdem does not have fixed limits on the amount of bets and allows players to bet all-in at any point in the hand (provided it is there turn to act).
- Omaha: This game is quite similar to Texas Holdem. The main difference in Omaha poker rules is that each player is dealt four hole cards out of which they can use only two to make their hands. There are two variations to this game, Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi-Lo. The basic feature of Omaha Hi is that the pot only goes to the player with the best hand. In Omaha Hi-Lo, the pot is split between the player with the best hand and the player with the lowest hand.
- Seven card stud: This is another popular poker game, played by 2-8 players. Seven card stud has a different betting structure. The initial bet called the ante is followed by five betting rounds. In this game, each player is dealt three face-down cards and four face-up cards. The player makes his best hand using any of his seven cards. There is a Hi-Lo version of this game and a Lo-only version of this game called Razz. In Razz, the goal is to make the worst possible hand.
- Crazy Pineapple: This is a fairly new poker game that is quite similar to Texas Holdem. Initially, players are dealt three cards and then the player needs to discard one of the three cards after the flop betting round. Other than this, all the rules are identical to Texas Holdem.
Pick any poker game from the above list and enjoy. But remember to keep the rules of the game in mind.
